Sila did an awesome job. They're not the cheapest solution, but their professionalism and responsiveness was worth the price. I had a leak in my mini-split heating and air conditioner. Because of poor work by another company all of the freon escaped from the system. The lines were freezing on the outside unit and a sensor went bad. Mr. Barnes from Sila came out, diagnosed the problem, contacted Bosch and found a solution. He even had Bosch provide parts under warranty and made the repairs a week later. He had some concerns about the previous work performed by the other company but he inserted some die into the system to help identify any future leaks. He charged the system and it's operating exceptionally well. And that's great because it's over 90 degrees this week. I highly recommend Sila and Mr. Barnes he's been working on AC's for over 16 years. (Good guy)👍
We have worked with Sila for several years and their work and service has been great. Their service technicians always provide excellent service, carefully explaining any problems they find and their recommendations for solutions. They are also all very nice, friendly people. Today Carlos Reed offered the same reliable, helpful, friendly service we have come to expect from Sila.
Highly reccomend Sila! My AC technician, Carlos, did a wonderful job getting my AC back working quickly after explaining what was going on and making sure I was OK moving forward with the repair. I originally booked same day service but they called to let me know the job before mine was taking longer than planned and asked if they could come first thing the next morning. I appreciated the foresight so I didn't waste my afternoon and true to their word, they came first thing the next day. They sent me a text an hour before he arrived that included his name and picture which I found helpful and reassuring. Once on-site, Carlos was very professional and kind and did a great job. Overall it was a great experience for the not so great situation of having no AC in the summer.
Jose was very knowledgeable, patient with my many questions, and explained exactly what was happening with our elderly a/c unit and what types of short and long term fixes we should consider. We’ve also had Marcus here a couple of times and he’s great as well. I like the detailed invoices with pictures so I can see what’s going on in the nooks and crannies. Overall we’ve had excellent experiences with Sila.
We recently contacted Sila to troubleshoot a ductless mini-split system that they installed for us in 2019 that we noticed wasn’t cooling properly. The technicians successfully identified a refrigerant leak which was from a faulty component covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. After replacing the leaking coil, the technicians (who were otherwise great) couldn’t find the invoice or an estimate for the work and told me they’d have to make a phone call. Minutes later I was surprised that we owed $3,275.00 for the labor of replacing the coil. I verified with the technician that the part was covered under warranty and that we had already paid for the work to find the leak (which was $1,482). He shrugged telling me that is what his boss told him to charge. The invoice we were sent provides no work breakdown or itemization that would explain why we were charged so much; roughly 3x what we’ve paid for similar work in the past. We’ve called Sila multiple times to make sure there wasn’t a mistake on the invoice and each time are told that someone will call us back; which has yet to happen. So in all we paid Sila nearly $5,000 to replace a part on a unit that they installed 3 years ago, that is covered under manufacturer’s warranty. This experience has been especially disappointing, because we've been loyal customers to this company since moving here years ago. I’d like to believe that this was a misunderstanding and not price gouging, but I can’t seem to get anyone on the phone to discuss it with us.
