Until today I was a huge fan of Sila. They installed my forced air system a few years back and have provided service since. No problems at all. The techs were always prompt, courteous and skilled. But then, earlier this summer I asked to add three registers to my system. At first someone at the company told me that they did not do this work in summer. I called back a few days later to ask for advice on where I could buy the soft venting they used on the original install, thinking maybe I could rough it in myself then have Sila hook it up to the system in September. The person who I talked to told me that they DO, in fact, do such work in the summer. Great, I said, lets schedule an estimate. A tech came out and gave me a proposal. Cool, let's schedule the work. They dragged their feet for about a week saying they would have the parts in a few days and that they could schedule something as soon as they were in. Then today, when I called asking for an update, the person I spoke with told me that they do NOT do such work in summer and that no one told me that they do - in other words, that I was lying. What!? Who lies about stuff like that? So they wasted my time and insulted me. And I'm not sure why. I'm just a repeat customer trying to give them more business. Now my project is stalled and I am no longer comfortable using Sila.

Lucas was incredibly helpful and detailed. I called in the morning when my air conditioner had stopped working the day before and they were able to send someone out within a few hours. There ended up being more issues than anticipated, but Lucas took his time and made sure that things were actually back up and working properly before leaving. He was really patient and detail oriented, and ended up spending a lot more time than I think he initially anticipated, but didn’t want to take any shortcuts. I really appreciate him taking the time to explain different things to me as well, to ensure I knew what the issues were and what services were being provided. I really appreciated all his hard work

I had Sila install 3 new Mitsubishi mini splits in my home 4 years ago, to accompany another already existing Mitsubishi system. I paid more to go with a trusted company over other quotes because I wanted to ensure I didn’t have any issues with my A/C in the future. My initial experience was great, but within a few months, I noticed that my A/C was not cooling properly in the new rooms. I had Sila come out to take a look and they said everything was working fine. I then had a yearly maintenance done for $99 on the units, which consisted of spraying cans of $8 A/C cleaner that you can buy at a hardware store into my interior units, and they still continued to not work well. The next summer the basement unit flooded my rug, and I had Sila come out to check on it. They said the drain line had gotten leaves in it and it should not have been installed so close to the ground. I pointed out that they had installed it, but because I was a couple of months past the end of my warranty, I had to pay for them to fix the issue. I had them come out again last year, 3 years from the install date, and I was informed that my Freon is now low and I would have to pay $750 to have it filled, but that likely means there is a leak in one of the lines and it would be $1,650 plus to have a leak test and much higher costs to fix it. The technician couldn’t do the diagnostic test that day, when it was 98 degrees outside, so if I wanted working A/C, I would have to pay the $750 and schedule them to come back out for the more expensive diagnosis. I paid the $750 and a month later the A/C was again not working properly. I asked the technician why the unit was already leaking Freon, when my 9 year old units are still working well, and he said it was possible screws were not tightened correctly during installation or that the pipes or coils were now leaking because of pin prick holes. I pointed out that they had installed the unit, but again, I got a shrug and was told I was out of warranty. I also pointed out that I had called multiple times before and that techs had told me everything was working properly while it was still under warranty. I have since spoken to another plumber who was shocked they would charge that kind of price to add Freon. I have also spoken with a neighbor who had a similar Mitsubishi unit installed in the same year as mine by Sila, and they told me the tech who came to diagnose the same issue said that they were using the wrong insulation 4 years ago during installation and that it causes pin prick holes in the pipes. I called Sila to ask about this, but was told they didn’t know anything about it but did ask for the neighbor’s name and address. They said they would put me in touch with the person who handled my initial sale, Chris Martin, but he never called me back. i called twice without getting a response. I had another company come out to diagnose the issue this summer, as my A/C unit is now blowing hot air, and they said that the line tests show no leaks but that the compressor mixing valve is not working properly and suggested I call the original company to see if they would honor a warranty, as it was clearly a problem with the unit itself and not a leak, and they had miss diagnosed it. I just called Sila again, and was told that their warranty is only for a year and there is nothing they can do. I am extremely frustrated with the service I have received from Sila and want to warn others against using them, as they clearly do not stand behind their work, charge exorbitant prices to diagnose and fix problems they created, and run down the time on their warranty so that customers have to out of pocket repairs and pay them more. I would highly recommend using another company for installation and maintenance!

Carlos was very informative and knowledgeable. He came by to give me an estimate for my hvac system replacement. There was no hard selling or pressure. Explained warranties and different financing options in a clear and concise manner. Also, very punctual. The appointment was at 9 am and he was here right at that time. It is my first time calling Sila. So far, Carlos has given me a great first impression. Very professional.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! They will take your money, not stand behind their work, and try to get you to spend much more than necessary. We called Sila initially because they offered free camera inspection of our pipes. They came and did the inspection, and claimed that our main sewer pipe was not properly sloped, and that it would cost $20K to redo it. We declined, and then awhile later we had a plumbing backup. When Sila came, they took hours to supposedly clear our pipe - but a few days later the. backup returned. When we called to have them either come fix it again or refund our money, they said that since the main pipe was incorrectly sloped, they did not guarantee their work and would not help us. We then called a REPUTABLE plumbing company. They found the clog in the pipe right away - it was directly under the main toilet, and should have been easily found by Sila. Then the new company put a camera down our main sewer pipe and showed me that the slope is correct and has not caused any backups. Therefore Sila was both incompetent in not finding the obvious clog location, and they also LIED to us about our main sewer pipe in order to get us to spend $20K unnecessarily.
