I arrived home after a trip to an air conditioning failure. My usual repair company could not come out for 8 days. I contacted McCrae. The person answering the phones was efficient, kind and professional. They were able to fit me in for a same day repair. The technician they sent out diagnosed and fixed the problem in less than an hour. He wore a mask for safety and was careful to wear shoe coverings and other measures to keep my home clean. The pricing was very fair. They’ve earned a new long term customer.
This is the 3rd of our 4 heat pumps that McCrea has replaced for us over the years. As usual, the techs were knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. The pricing has also always been competitive. We appreciate the consistent dependable service and attention we always get from McCrea.
Price seemed high for the work but because the company would not break out labor verses material costs it is difficult to evaluate or make comparison with other companies. Also, found the paperwork confusing and monumental. I think paper work should have been shown prior to the job not after completing the work! Still waiting for copies of what I signed. I had a complete Heat pump system installed which included new return ducting to help reduce noise from the main fan coming on line. I am still in the evaluation mode
Terrible service. Brand new construction and several of us located in Potomac Overlook in National Harbor had little to no Freon in the units (they said it was because there was no way for them to balance it since it was a winter installation). My neighbor has drywall and water damage as a result of their installation issues. There was no QA prior to the HVAC system being turned on. This is the 2nd time I'm having them out to balance and check the system. The person on the phone was condescending... the technician only documented that he looked at 1 unit when that was not the case... he looked at both units when he was here.
I had called McCrea since that's who installed the HVAC system in my home for the builder. I wanted to have a humidifier installed, the initial technician (Trent) did a really good job. Very professional, my issue isn't with the initial installation. My review is for the following... 1). I purchased a maintenance plan and wasn't told that the humidifier wouldn't be covered. I would have to pay for it separately, POOR service and communication. 2). And this is really what this 2 stars is for, I was hearing a ticking sound at my humidifier, I called and scheduled a technician to come out to look at it. The initial tech during installation set it to within the recommended range (40%), well the technician was late (I understand some jobs run longer than usual), I was the last appointment of the day for him. He said it was set too high and turned it down, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 1 (10%). That's basically OFF!! You have 10% or alittle more in your home without a humidifier!!! Then told me he turned it down so I shouldn't hear the ticking anymore. I checked it out a few days later to see what the humidity was and was SHOCKED and ENRAGED that he would try to pass off what he did as fixing my issue. The Temple Hills location of McCrea is a DISGRACE!! ————————————————————————————— UPDATE: After my previous experience I was contacted within 24hrs by the company, Rachel asked how they could resolve my issue and address my previous service. She made every effort to see that my issue was fixed, Trent came back out and fixed the issue and addressed how my previous appointment would be handled as well. Great effort to fix the issue and address the service I received. This was the experience and customer service you expect, great reset!
